Caurora supportPrivacy policy
Effective October 10, 2026. This policy describes the Caurora iPhone camera app.
Your photographs
Caurora uses camera access only to provide the viewfinder and capture photographs. Photos are saved to your photo library only with your permission. Caurora does not upload them to the developer or NOAA. Your own Photos and iCloud settings may sync them through Apple.
Local settings and unsaved captures
Camera preferences, including exposure and self-timer settings, are stored on your device. If a save fails, the photo stays temporarily in app memory so you can retry. It is removed from app memory when saved, discarded, or the app exits. Temporary RAW files used for a save attempt are removed afterward.
NOAA forecast requests
Caurora fetches public geomagnetic forecasts from NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center. This request does not include photographs, camera settings, identifiers, or a location from Caurora. NOAA and network providers receive standard connection information such as the IP address needed to deliver the response. Their own privacy policies govern their systems. NOAA privacy information.
Motion and permissions
Device motion is used locally to display a horizon level. Caurora does not store or transmit motion data. Camera, motion and photo-library permissions can be changed in iPhone Settings. Caurora does not request location access.
No tracking or accounts
The current app has no account system, advertising SDK, analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, or developer-operated photo backend. The developer does not collect personal information through Caurora.
Control and contact
Delete Caurora to remove its local settings; already-saved photos remain in Photos until you delete them there. For support or privacy questions, contact carnifis@gmail.com.
Changes
This policy will be updated if Caurora's data practices change.
